Senior Operations Members
As "sole employees" of the board, the senior operations person (CEO/ED) is expected to lead the organization to achieve its mission. They are also expected to build a positive, trusting relationship with the board and to support the board in executing its stewardship role. Together, the CEO/ED and board are the “strategic leadership” of the organization. Together they can raise the confidence of their organization’s key stakeholders. Together they can ensure accountability, transparency and optimal organizational performance. Together they can transform the health system. This section recognizes the important role and relationship that senior operations people play in assuring good governance.
