Individuals who dedicate their time and energy to improve the health of their community through their role as a board member are the corner stone for good governance. Board members are required to make decisions and monitor the performance of their organization on behalf of its stakeholders. This requires an understanding of their constituents, their organization and the wider system context. Knowing who sits on which service provider board at any point in time offers a tremendous opportunity for communication synergy and planning amongst boards. Building and deepening relationships based on a shared purpose can lead to extraordinary collaboration and innovation.
